1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Gift Swap Central ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses and shares information when you use Gift Swap Central (the "Service").

2. Information we collect

Account information: your name and email address, and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile Google shares with us. We don't use passwords for participants.

Event information: the events you organize or join, who is invited, the rules, the names drawn, wish lists, messages, gift photos and delivery choices. If you choose to have a gift mailed to you, the address you give is shared only with the person sending it, or the event's coordinator.

Payment information: when an organizer buys a party pass, our payment provider handles the card details. We keep only what we need to record the purchase, such as its status and amount.

Technical information: our servers receive standard request data, such as IP address and browser type, which we use to run and secure the Service.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

• Run events: draw names, show wish lists and run live swaps.
• Send the emails the Service needs, such as sign-in links, invitations and event reminders.
• Process party pass purchases.
• Keep the Service secure and prevent abuse.
• Improve the Service and fix problems.
• Meet our legal obligations.

4. Who sees what

People in an event see what that event needs: names, wish lists and, during a swap, the gifts. Who drew whom in a Secret Santa stays secret. Organizers can see the matches only if they turn on the admin view, which is off by default. Observers who join with a room code see the live swap, not anyone's contact details.

5. Sharing with service providers

We share information only with the providers that help us run the Service: our hosting provider (Cloudflare), which also sends our email; Google, if you sign in with it; and our payment provider for party passes. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't show ads.

Our gift guide links to other stores. When you follow an affiliate link, that store may know you came from us. What you do on their site is covered by their privacy policy.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, to enforce our Terms, or to protect someone's rights, property or safety.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, keep the Service secure and remember preferences such as light or dark mode. We don't use advertising cookies.

7. How long we keep it

We keep account information while your account is open. Event information is kept so you can look back at past swaps, until you or the organizer delete it. Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.

8. Children

Organizer accounts are for adults. Children may take part in a family event with a parent or guardian's permission. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without that consent. If you think a child has given us information without it, contact us and we'll delete it.

9. Security and international transfers

We protect information with industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit, but no system is perfectly secure. The Service runs on global infrastructure, so information may be processed outside your country.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information. Email support@giftswapcentral.com and we'll help.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If a change is material, we'll tell you by email or in the Service. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed.
